"Memory"

 1      Midnight not a sound from the pavement　

 真夜中、舗道から物音一つ無く

 Has the moon lost her memory? 　

 月は思い出を失ってしまったの？

 She is smiling alone　

 彼女はひとり、微笑んでいる

 In the lamplight,　　

 街灯りのもと、

 the withered leaves collect at my feet　

 枯れ葉が足元に集まって

 And the wind begins to moan　

 風はうなり声をあげ始める

 2      Memory, all alone in the moonlight　

 思い出よ、月明かりの中ただ独り

 I can smile at the old days　

 過ぎ去りし日々に微笑んでしまう

 I was beautiful then　

 あの頃私は美しかった

 I remember the time　

 私は覚えているわ、あの頃は

 I knew what happiness was　

 幸せが何か知っていた

 Let the memory live again　

 思い出よ、よみがえれ

 3      Every streetlamp seems to beat　

 街灯が一つ一つ打ち鳴らしているみたい

 A fatalistic warning　

 運命的な警報を

 Someone mutters and the street lamp gutters　

 誰かがつぶやき灯りは揺らめき

 And soon it will be morning 

 すぐに朝になる

 4      Daylight

 日の光よ

 I must wait for the sunrise 

 私は日の出を待たなくては

 I must think of a new life 　

 新しい生活を考えなくては

 And I mustn't give in. 　

 私は屈してはいけない

 When the dawn comes　

 夜明けが来れば

 Tonight will be a memory too　

 今夜もまた、思い出となり

 And a new day will begin　

 新しい一日が始まる

 5　Burnt out ends of smoky days

 くすんだ日々は燃え尽き終わり

 The stale cold smell of morning　

 朝のよどんだ冷たい匂い

 A streetlamp dies; another night is over

 街灯は消え、また夜が終わり

 Another day is dawning
