證誠寺の伝説 The legend of Shoujou Temple
(千葉県 木更津市 Chiba Prefecture, Kisarazu City)
ある秋の晩、寺の庭で何十匹もの狸が腹鼓を
打ちながら楽しそうに踊っていた。
和尚さんがこれを見て、三味線で お囃子を始め、
競い合って演奏したという。
One autumn night, in the garden of the temple,
dozens of raccoon dogs were drumming their bellies
and dancing happily. The chief priest saw this
and began to accompany them with his shamisen.

They played competing with each other.
